Meet The Jokers
The minds behind Film Jokers. A collective of movie enthusiasts, critics, and cinephiles dedicated to bringing you the best (and sometimes worst) of cinema.
Jason
Who is Jason (Warlock Of Wifi)?
I am a lifelong horror fan who grew up watching everything from classic monster movies to late night cable slashers that probably should not have been on when I was a kid (I'm looking at you USA Up All Night). When I am not writing about or watching movies, I work in cybersecurity, paint Warhammer miniatures (and try to play), and try to convince my daughter that I am cool. I have spent nearly two decades around the haunted attraction industry, so I have a deep appreciation for the people who keep horror alive both on screen and off.
Movie I've Seen the Most
Halloween (1978). At this point I have probably watched Michael Myers stalk Haddonfield so many times I could recite half the movie from memory (at least Michael's lines).
Hot Take(s)
The best length for a movie is about 90 minutes.
Practical effects almost always look better than CGI.
Val Kilmer was the best Batman.
Preferred Movie Snacks
Nachos loaded with jalapenos, relish, and mustard, a pack of sweet ropes, and a large root beer.
Joe
Who is Joe?
I'm a casual enjoyer of films that is trying to catch up on a backlog of films that I've should have seen by now (according to Ned). I'm also cohost of the Drag Me To The Movies podcast. I'm a big fan of sci-fi, comedies, and action films. My preferred medium of watching films is at the drive-inn with movie theaters as a close second.
Movie I've Seen the Most
Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers (2002)
Hot Take(s)
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy (2004) is the best comedy of my generation (Millennial)!
Preferred Movie Snacks
I enjoy me a medium popcorn, that gets finished before the trailers finish, and a cherry Coke! Sometimes, I'll splurge on some Raisinets!
Ned
Who is Ned?
I’m a fan first and foremost, though I’ve certainly developed a critic’s eye over the years. While I appreciate all cinema, horror holds a special place in my heart. I love diving into discussions, sharing my observations, and mapping out the creative changes I’d make to turn a 'good' movie into a 'great' one. I also co-host the Drag Me to the Movies podcast with Joe.
Movie I've Seen the Most
Jaws (1975)
Hot Take(s)
Die Hard is a Christmas movie.
Preferred Movie Snacks
Large Soda (varies, but Cherry Coke has been refreshing lately) and popcorn.
